Pancreatic islets (islets of Langerhans) contain several cell types, including glucagon secreting alpha cells and insulin secreting beta cells, that work together to maintain glucose homeostasis.1-2 Glucagon is a peptide hormone that increases blood glucose through gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis.1-3 Anti-glucagon labels glucagon secreting cells of both normal and neoplastic origin.
