Uroplakin II is a critical transmembrane protein present in the umbrella cells of the urothelium, forming part of the blood-urine barrier. With its selective expression in urothelial tissue and lack of reactivity in other tissue types, Uroplakin II serves as a key marker for urothelial differentiation, making it an essential tool in histopathology.

With its selective expression in tumor tissues and absence in normal tissues, H3 K27M serves as a key marker for accurate diagnosis, making it an essential tool in histopathology.

We know that childhood cancer is relatively rare overall. In honor of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, we strive to shine a light on the heroic measures taken in histopathology. An estimated 400,000+ children will be diagnosed with some form of cancer worldwide each year. Survival rates have increased in recent decades due in part to early and accurate detection and advancements in treatment.
