Cytokeratins 8 &18 (CK 8 & 18) are major components of the intermediate filaments in thyroid, liver and most simple epithelia (e.g. breast, gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts).1-2 Anti-CK 8 & 18 is found to stain most adenocarcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas.3-5 CK 8 & 18 are frequently used as the epithelial markers for identifying Paget cells,6 metastatic gastric7 and colorectal carcinomas.8
