Annexin A1, also known as lipocortin I, is a protein that is encoded by the ANXA1 gene in humans. Annexin A1 is a useful marker for identifying hairy cell leukemia cells.1 Additionally, aberrant expression of Annexin A1 has been reported in certain types of breast and gastric carcinomas.2-5
