ALK-Lung (EML4-ALK) Analyte Control
The ALK-Lung Analyte Control contains two cell lines that demonstrate positive and negative expression of EML4-ALK associated lung cancer. Ideal for use as a same slide control in IHC to demonstrate that the reagents have been correctly applied to the slide.
The ALK gene is found on the short arm of chromosome 2. As an oncogene it was first identified as a translocation in anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) t(2;5)(p23;q35). In this instance the translocation caused a fusion product with the nucleophosmin gene: NPM-ALK. In reality the ALK translocation is a promiscuous event and associated with numerous fusions in multiple malignancies including EML4-ALK in non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC).
Specifications
- Cells are fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin and paraffin wax embedded.
- Pre-cut sections are cut at 4µm, mounted on positively charged slides and baked overnight at 37°C.
- Cell microarrays (CMA) contain cores that are 2mm in diameter and 3-3.5mm in length. It is possible to obtain over 300-400 sections depending on thickness.
