Detection of CDX-2 with immunohistochemistry (IHC) with CDX-2 (EPR2764Y) Rabbit Monoclonal Primary Antibody may be used to aid in the diagnosis of colorectal carcinomas.

CDX-2, or caudal-related homeobox gene 2, is a transcription factor that is a major regulator of intestine-specific genes involved in intestinal cell proliferation and differentiation.1 CDX-2 is expressed normally in the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract epithelium, including the stomach, small intestine, colon, and pancreas.2 CDX-2 is also expressed variably in upper and lower gastrointestinal tract carcinomas including most colorectal carcinomas.1-4 CDX-2 immunohistochemistry shows a nuclear pattern of staining.
