CD45R, also named MB1, is the isoform of CD45, the protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. CD45R is expressed in hematopoietic cells and has been shown to be an essential regulator of T- and B-cell antigen receptor signaling.  CD45R immunohistochemical reactivity is reportedly seen in most B-lymphocytes such as follicle center cells, mantle cells, some medullary thymocytes, post-thymic naïve T-lymphocytes, and B-cell lymphomas.1-6
