Human lysozyme is a bacteriolytic enzyme which has had its gene mapped to chromosome 12q15.1-3 Lysozyme has been shown to be expressed in histiocytes, granulocytes, and monocytes.2,3,4 Anti-lysozyme may aid in the identification of histiocytic neoplasias, large lymphocytes, and classifying lymphoproliferative disorders.1-4
