Alpha-1 antichymotrypsin is an acute phase protein that inhibits serine proteases such as chymotrypsin and cathepsin G.1  Alpha-1 antichymotrypsin primary antibody can be used to identify the presence of alpha-1 antichymotrypsin in histiocytes and their derived neoplasms.2
