| Cytokeratin 20 + TTF-1 |  |
Cytokeratin 20 has been used to label adenocarcinoma of the COLON (90 - 95%) amongst several other types of adenocarcinomas including that from stomach, and ovary. It is however characteristically negative in the case of lung adenocarcinomas. AntiCytokeratin 20 labels the cytoplasm of such cells. TTF-1, of course, labels the nuclei in approximately 80% of adenocarcinomas of the lung. Thus, on the basis of nuclear vs. cytoplasmic staining, one can narrow the differential diagnosis in such cases.
